IMA writes to CM to withdraw training of RMPs
IMA has written to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh to withdraw their retrograde step where the govt. has decided to utilize the services of Quacks – popularly known as RMP for rural areas by first providing them basic training and then inducting them into service.

Giving details Dr S S Agarwal, National President, IMA and Padma Shri Awardee, Dr K K Aggarwal, Hony. Secretary General, IMA said that the same is a violation of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956. 
Dr. Aggarwal further said that even a recent Double Bench Delhi High Court Judgement ( Delhi Medical Association vs Principal Secretary Health) has clarified that doctors of Indian System of Medicine even after the bridge course are not entitled to practice modern medicine.  Hon’ble High Court has also directed Medical Council of India and Delhi Medical Council to ensure that such practices does not happen.

Reacting further Dr. Gannabathula Satyanarayana Murty, President, & Dr. M. Atavur Rahman, Hony. Secretary, Andhra Pradesh State Branch, IMA said that in the recently held inter Ministerial Committee Meeting of Government of India also has said that as per Indian Medical Council act non modern medicine doctors can not practice modern medicine unless they are registered with the state modern medicine medical council.
