Indian Medical Association Annual Awards: Applications Open

New Delhi, February 12, 2016: The Indian Medical Association today announced the opening of the nominations for its award ceremony scheduled to take place on Doctors Day on July 1^st and Teacher’s day on September 5th this year.

The various award categories include:

·         IMA Doctor of the Year Award

·         IMA Doctor of the Decade Award

·         IMA Life Time Achievement Award

·         IMA Medical Teacher of the Year Award

All the 1700 local IMA branches have been notified regarding this and they have been requested to submit names along with the nominee’s bio-data and achievements latest by June 15^th this year. The Nominations can also come through any past National President.

Speaking about the awards, Dr. SS Agarwal, National President IMA & Padma Shri Awardee Dr. K.K.Aggarwal, President, Heart Care Foundation of India and Honorary Secretary General IMA said, “We at IMA believe that excellence in the medical profession must be recognized. There are various medical professionals who are tirelessly working towards the cause of raising health awareness in our country as well as helping needy. The aim behind these awards is to recognize such individuals and encourage others to follow their footsteps. We look forward to the nominations received and the event later this year. A special awards committee will be constituted to evaluate all the applications and shortlist the winners.”
